Target opens new store in Hunterdon County with ribbon-cutting ceremony
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Local officials and community members joined Target executives Tuesday evening to celebrate the grand opening of the retailer’s new store in the Flemington Shops at 325 Route 202.
The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5 p.m. and a guided tour of the store, which Target leaders said was designed to emphasize customer experience, convenience and modern amenities.
Hunterdon County Deputy Director Shaun C. Van Doren and Commissioner Susan J. Soloway attended the ceremony, along with County Clerk Mary Melfi, Sheriff Fred Brown, Raritan Township Mayor Bob King, and Township Committee members Scott Sipos and Robyn Fatooh.
“Target’s investment in Raritan Township is a reflection of the growth and opportunity we are seeing across Hunterdon County,” Van Doren said. “This store not only enhances the retail landscape but also supports our workforce and contributes to the local economy.”
Soloway added that the new location will provide jobs and expanded services for local residents. “Target has shown a clear commitment to being an active and engaged community partner, and we welcome them warmly to Hunterdon County,” she said.
Target representatives said they are excited to join the Flemington-area business community and aim to establish the store as a trusted neighborhood destination.
The retailer’s arrival marks a significant addition to Hunterdon County’s retail sector, officials said, expected to generate both economic activity and convenience for shoppers.
