Three men sentenced in kidnapping, killing of man found along I-80 in Warren County

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Three Newark men have been sentenced after pleading guilty in the kidnapping and killing of a Newark man whose remains were discovered along Interstate 80 in Warren County, authorities said.

The case stems from the death of Quadree Burch, 27, of Newark, whose remains were found on Aug. 18, 2022, by a New Jersey Department of Transportation employee mowing grass along the eastbound side of Interstate 80 near milepost 16.6 in Allamuchy Township.

A five-month investigation by the New Jersey State Police Major Crime North Unit determined that Burch had been kidnapped and killed on Aug. 7, 2022. Investigators alleged that Mustafa Manns, 28, William Dixon, 34, and Nishir Rios-Figueroa, 30, abducted Burch and drove him to Allamuchy Township, where he was shot and killed along the interstate.

Burch had been reported missing in Newark on Aug. 9, 2022, and was later identified as the victim.

Authorities arrested all three suspects in 2023 and charged them with offenses including murder, felony murder, kidnapping and related crimes.

Dixon pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter on Dec. 5, 2025, and was sentenced to 25 years in state prison without the possibility of early release.

Manns pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter on March 27, 2026, and received a 20-year state prison sentence without the possibility of early release.

Rios-Figueroa pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter on April 20, 2026, and was sentenced to 10 years in state prison without the possibility of early release.

The investigation was conducted by the New Jersey State Police Major Crime North Unit with assistance from the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Newark Police Department. The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office prosecuted the case.
