Tractor-trailer strikes school bus on I-80 in Morris County; no injuries reported

PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS, N.J. (Morris County) — A tractor-trailer struck a school bus on Interstate 80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills on Thursday morning, but no injuries were reported, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 9:56 a.m. at milepost 40.4 on the eastbound side of the highway, said State Police spokesperson Sgt. Charles Marchan.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the tractor-trailer was traveling in the center lane when it struck a school bus in the left lane. The impact caused the bus to lose control and crash into the center median. Debris from the collision also struck a third vehicle.

There were no passengers aboard the school bus at the time of the crash, and no injuries were reported at the scene, Marchan said.

The incident remains under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
