Traffic stop leads to discovery of man wanted by U.S. Marshals in Morris County

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A traffic stop in Denville Township led to the discovery of a Union County man wanted by the U.S. Marshals.

On Aug. 23, at around 9:38 p.m., police conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Augusta Street and Legion Place, officials said.

The vehicle was stopped for having a brake light out and an expired temporary registration on the vehicle, police said.

During the course of the stop, it was determined that the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Marcus Olivera-Leon, 33, of Elizabeth, had active warrants for his arrest including being wanted by the United State Marshals, police said.

Olivera-Leon was arrested and lodged in the Morris County Jail in default of the warrants, police said.

In addition, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for having an unregistered vehicle, failure to exhibit documents, maintenance of lamps, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and abandonment of a motor vehicle on private property. He was released pending a court appearance, police said.
