WalletHub: New Jersey is 2024’s 7th most diverse state in America

NEW JERSEY – New Jersey is 2024’s 7th most diverse state in America, according to a WalletHub study.

With Hispanic Heritage Month in full swing, the personal-finance website WalletHub Tuesday released its report on 2024’s Most Diverse States in America to celebrate the melting pot that is our country.

WalletHub compared diversity in the 50 states across six key categories: socio-economic, cultural, economic, household, religious and political.

Diversity in New Jersey (1=Most Diverse, 25=Avg.):

  • Overall rank for New Jersey: 7th
  • 5th – Educational-Attainment Diversity
  • 6th – Racial & Ethnic Diversity
  • 2nd – Linguistic Diversity
  • 19th – Birthplace Diversity
  • 28th – Industry Diversity*
  • 17th – Generational Diversity
  • 7th – Household-Size Diversity
  • 17th – Religious Diversity

*Includes civilian employed population aged 16 and older
