WalletHub: New Jersey is 2025’s 3rd best state to live in

NEW JERSEY – New Jersey is 2025’s 3rd best state to live in, according to a study done by WalletHub.

With around 7.8% of Americans having moved according to the latest data, slightly less than the year before, the personal-finance website WalletHub Monday released its report on 2025‘s Best States to Live in.

To help Americans settle down in the best and most affordable place possible, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 51 key indicators of livability. They range from housing costs and income growth to the education rate and quality of hospitals.

Living Conditions in New Jersey (1=Best; 25=Avg.):

  • Overall Rank: 3rd
  • 6th – % of Population in Poverty
  • 25th – % of Insured Population
  • 15th – % of Adults in Fair or Poor Health
  • 13th – Avg. Weekly Work Hours
  • 7th – Restaurants per Capita

Here are the top 5 best states to live in:

  1. Massachusetts
  2. Idaho
  3. New Jersey
  4. Wisconsin
  5. Minnesota
Here are the top 5 worst states to live in:
  1. New Mexico
  2. Louisiana
  3. Arkansas
  4. Mississippi
  5. Alaska
