
Warren County man accused of firing gun 9 time into ground to break up an altercation
MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Warren County man was arrested last week after allegedly firing a gun into the ground to break up an altercation, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.
On Friday, May 24, at around 10:15 p.m., police responded to the area of Gulick Street in Mansfield Township after receiving a report of gunfire, officials said.
Upon officers arrival, police were informed that no one had been shot but that Kajaun D. Manley, 34, of Port Murray had discharged a firearm into the ground approximately 9 times in an effort to break up an altercation nearby, authorities said.
As a result of the investigation, Manley was charged with second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, specifically a Smith and Wesson M&P 15, the prosecutor’s office said.
The second-degree crimes carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in the New Jersey State Prison.
