Warren County seeks public input on transportation options

Connect Warren County: Comprehensive Complete Streets Policy Implementation Plan

WARREN COUNTY, NJ – In order to provide a comprehensive, integrated, connected multi-modal network of transportation options for all roadway users, Warren County is developing a Comprehensive Complete Streets Policy Implementation Plan, called Connect Warren County.

Complete Streets is an approach to planning, designing, and building streets that considers the travel needs of everyone, including people who are driving, walking, bicycling, taking public transportation, and making deliveries. Connect Warren County will provide the tools for Complete Streets policy adoption and implementation with a focus on rural and small-town strategies.

The County invites the community to visit the project website at https://bit.ly/ConnectWarrenNJ, take the project survey, and to share ideas for routes or destinations via an interactive map.

Your comments will help the county understand barriers to travel, where you would like to see improvements, and what connections are important to you. Survey and mapping comments will be accepted online until September 15, 2024. Print copies of the survey will be available on request for pick-up and drop-off locally.

The Connect Warren County team will be at the Hackettstown Street Fair on July 21 and the Warren County Farmers’ Fair in Harmony Township on Aug. 1 to promote the plan, talk to attendees about Complete Streets, and discuss travel needs and opportunities.

Public meetings will be held during the winter and will be an opportunity for the public to review and provide input on the draft plan.

The final plan will be completed by June 30, 2025.

This project is funded in part by the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) through the Subregional Studies Program and is led by the Warren County Planning Department. The planning effort is supported by the consultant team of NV5, MBO Engineering, and Heyer, Gruel & Associates.
