Warren County to host combined Veterans Day and recognition ceremony on Nov. 8
BELVIDERE, N.J. (Warren County) — Warren County will honor the service and sacrifice of local veterans during a combined Veterans Day and Veterans Recognition Ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Warren County War Memorial in Belvidere.
The Warren County Board of County Commissioners, in partnership with the Warren County War Memorial Corporation, will celebrate all veterans — those currently serving and those who have served during wartime and peacetime.
This year’s ceremony will feature the presentation of the Warren County Distinguished Military Service Medal to veterans recognized for their wartime service. County Commissioner Director Jason J. Sarnoski and Commissioners Lori Ciesla and James R. Kern III will present each medal, along with a certificate and pin, to honorees who have been approved and invited to attend.
Applications for the Distinguished Military Service Medal are being accepted through Oct. 24, 2025, and are available for download on the county’s website.
The program will also include:
- A ceremony celebrating all veterans and marking the 250th anniversaries of the United States Army, Marines, and Navy;
- A proclamation from the County Commissioners recognizing National Veterans and Military Families Month;
- The presentation of a Quilt of Valor made by members of the Evening Star Quilting Guild to veteran Ernie Maso;
- Performances by musician Doug Grunn, who will play the Band of Brothers theme and sound Taps;
- And the playing of the service songs for each branch of the military.
Veterans receiving the Distinguished Military Service Award will be provided seating for themselves and one guest. All other attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
The Warren County War Memorial is located next to the Warren County Courthouse, at the corner of Second and Mansfield streets in Belvidere.
