Warren County Veterans Resource and Job Expo draws strong turnout, connecting veterans with resources
BELVIDERE, NJ (Warren County) – The Veterans Resource and Job Expo, hosted by the Warren County Division of Aging and Disability Services at Belvidere Manor on April 3, brought together local veteran and service organizations, employers, and community leaders to offer vital tools, resources, and opportunities for veterans.
Warren County Commissioner Director Jason J. Sarnoski attended the event to meet with local veterans and promote the various services provided by the county.
“Thank you to all the veterans, organizations, employers, and volunteers who made this event possible. Your support continues to make a difference in the lives of those who have given so much to our country,” Sarnoski remarked.
The event was a collaborative effort organized in partnership with Warren County Veterans Coordinator and Veteran Service Officer Jacquie Petersen, and highlighted the community’s commitment to supporting those who served in the military. Feeding Our Heroes generously volunteered their time and resources, serving meals to over 100 veterans at no cost, while Splitenz Salon Studio provided free haircuts for attendees.
With an impressive turnout, the expo featured over 70 employers and resource organizations. Represented were companies in healthcare, mental health services, and employment, as well as local hospitals, colleges, universities, county law enforcement agencies, and veteran-owned businesses.
“The Warren County Veterans Resource and Job Expo was not just an event; it was a reminder of the strength of our veteran community and the support we owe them for their service,” commented Petersen.
In addition to employment opportunities, the expo featured numerous veterans’ organizations, with representatives from the VA (Veterans Affairs) and DMAVA (Department of Military and Veterans Affairs) offering valuable services and information to veterans.
Musical entertainment, provided by five-time Broadway Emmy Award winner Derrick Baker and rising Nashville singer-songwriter John DeRosa of Phillipsburg, set an energetic and appreciative tone for the day.
