Washington Celebrates America announces parade and Orange Crate Derby for July 4, after successful volunteer turnout

WASHINGTON, NJ (Warren County) — The planning for Washington Celebrates America is back on track, thanks to an enthusiastic response from the community.

Last week’s meeting saw an impressive turnout, with around 50 potential volunteers stepping forward to help organize the event. Several individuals also agreed to take on key leadership roles, ensuring the success of this year’s celebration.

As a result, the committee has announced that Washington Celebrates America will once again hold the Parade and the Orange Crate Derby on July 4, 2025. The fireworks will not take place this year, as the fireworks provider is unable to commit to the July 4th date.

While the event is currently being planned on a year-to-year basis, the committee remains optimistic that this tradition will continue for many years to come.

The event’s return is made possible by the hard work and dedication of the volunteers who have already stepped up, and the committee is grateful for their involvement. The next meeting will take place on Monday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. at Washington Borough Hall. After that, the Washington Celebrates America committee will meet monthly, with additional meetings scheduled for twice in June.

The committee encourages anyone interested in getting involved to attend and help continue these cherished traditions. More volunteers are always needed, and now is the perfect time to make a difference.

For those interested in joining, the committee welcomes new volunteers and ideas to ensure the success of the 2025 event and beyond.
