Woman accused in Warren County meth distribution investigation

WARREN COUNTY, N.J. — A five-week investigation into the alleged distribution of methamphetamine in Warren County led to the arrest of an Oxford Township woman on Tuesday, Oct. 21, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.

Meredith T. Bergenback, 47, was taken into custody after investigators identified her as the individual accused of taking part in the alleged narcotics operation. She was arrested, processed and lodged in the Warren County Correctional Center.

Bergenback is with third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance; second-degree possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute in a quantity greater than one-half ounce; and second-degree distribution of methamphetamine in a quantity greater than one-half ounce.

According to the prosecutor’s office, second-degree crimes carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in New Jersey State Prison, and third-degree crimes carry a maximum sentence of five years.

The investigation was conducted by the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office and the Washington Township Police Department, with assistance from the Warren County Tactical Response Team and the Mansfield Township Police Department.
