Woman dies in crash involving box truck in Hunterdon County

ALEXANDRIA TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — An 86-year-old Milford Borough woman died Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on County Route 519 in Hunterdon County, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 12:12 p.m. near milepost 13.4 on County Route 519 North in Alexandria Township, State Police spokesperson Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

A preliminary investigation determined that a Volkswagen passenger vehicle was traveling northbound while an Isuzu box truck was heading southbound. In the area of milepost 13.4, the Volkswagen struck the left side of the Isuzu before running off the road to the left.

The driver of the Volkswagen, identified as Ruth Henshaw, 86, of Milford Borough, sustained fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation. No additional details were immediately available.
