Worker injured, airlifted after fall down a hole in Hunterdon County
EAST AMWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A worker was airlifted to a hospital Monday morning after falling into a hole and suffering moderate injuries in East Amwell, according to New Jersey State Police.
Troopers responded around 9:09 a.m. May 18 to a report of a fall victim on Back Brook Road, state police said.
A preliminary investigation found the worker fell into a hole and was injured during the incident. Authorities did not release the victim’s identity or additional details about the circumstances surrounding the fall.
East Amwell authorities said local emergency responders treated a trauma patient who suffered a fall of more than 14 feet before the victim was flown to a nearby hospital by a New Jersey State Police medical helicopter.
“Thanks to the swift actions and expertise of our Emergency Medical Services (EMS), fire department, and law enforcement personnel, the patient received prompt medical attention and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital via a New Jersey State Police medical helicopter,” East Amwell authorities said in a statement.
“We appreciate the commitment of all first responders who diligently work to safeguard our community daily and request that everyone consider the patient and their family in their thoughts.”
No additional information was released.
