1 dead after pickup truck strikes tree in Sussex County

FREDON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A woman was killed after her vehicle struck a tree on Wednesday night in Sussex County, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Detective Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash happened at around 9:25 p.m. on County Road 622 westbound at milepost 3.9 in Fredon Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Dodge pickup truck, driven by Tina Larson, 54, of Newton, was traveling westbound on County Road 622 when her vehicle ran off the roadway to the right and impacted a tree, Lebron said.

As a result of the crash, Larson suffered fatal injuries, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information was available, Lebron said.
