19-year-old convicted of aggravated assault of Somerset County store employee

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Somerset County) – A 19-year-old man has been found guilty of assaulting an employee at a Somerset County business, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.

On May 10, a Somerset County Jury convicted Yahmir Brown, 19, of Somerset of second-degree aggravated assault, McDonald said.

On Nov. 23, 2022, Brown was charged, along with a juvenile co-defendant, for assaulting the employee of a local business located on Hamilton Street in Franklin Township, McDonald said.

The victim suffered multiple facial fractures because of the incident, McDonald said.

Brown faces a mandatory prison sentence, 85% of which is to be served without parole pursuant to the No Early Release Act, McDonald said.

During the trial, the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Rory A. Eaton, with the assistance of Litigation Paralegal Maria Ducca.
