VERNON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Two Vernon Emergency Medical Services crew members suffered non-life-threatening injuries after an ambulance was involved in a motor vehicle crash Sunday afternoon while responding to a call for service in Vernon Township, authorities said.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. July 26 on Lake Wallkill Road, according to police.
Police said the ambulance was assigned to a call for service when it was involved in the crash. The two crew members were evaluated at the scene and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident prompted the temporary closure of Lake Wallkill Road while utility crews completed necessary repairs. The roadway has since reopened to traffic.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the Vernon Township Police Department. No additional information was immediately available.
