2 face charges following investigation into drug distribution and sale of fictitious government IDs in Morris County

MADISON BOROUGH, NJ (Morris County) – Two Morris County residents face charges following an investigation into alleged drug distribution and the sale of fictitious government IDs in Madison Borough

On May 5, at 7:20 a.m., Massimo Suzuki-Scotti, 18, of Madison Borough, was arrested at his Elm Street residence following a year-long investigation by the Madison Police Department Division of Investigations, the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, and the United States Postal Inspection Service.

The investigation was prompted by information regarding Suzuki-Scotti’s involvement in illegal activities within Madison Borough.

Detectives executed a search warrant at his residence, resulting in his arrest. Suzuki-Scotti faces multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree selling or transferring false government documents, two counts of first-degree distributing LSD over 100mg, second-degree conspiracy to offer for sale a false government document, third-degree possession of LSD, fourth-degree possession of marijuana, third-degree possession with intent to distribute marijuana under 5 pounds, third-degree money laundering, fourth-degree possessing a document falsely purporting to be ID, and disorderly person’s offense for receiving stolen property.

Suzuki-Scotti was lodged in the Morris County Jail pending his first appearance in Morris County Superior Court.

As part of the same investigation, Caitlyn N. Van Order, 23, of Madison Borough, was arrested on May 6, at 4:30 p.m. at her Main Street residence. Van Order was charged with third-degree possession of psychedelic mushrooms, third-degree possession of marijuana under 5 pounds, and third-degree conspiracy or possession with intent to distribute marijuana between 1 ounce to 5 pounds. She was processed at Madison Police Department Headquarters and released pending her first court appearance in Morris County Superior Court.

“This case is a direct result of the strong ties we have with our community and the solid investigative work by our Madison Police Detectives, particularly D/Sgt. Ken Shannon, Det. Jerry Mantone, Det. Jon Finocchiaro, and our entire team, as well as our federal, state, and county law enforcement partners,” said Madison Police Chief John R. Miscia. “We answered the quality-of-life concerns reported by our residents and will continue to do so.”

The investigation also received assistance from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Special Enforcement Unit, as well as the Morris County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation and K-9 Unit.
