This year’s event features over 70 performances at 23 venues throughout downtown Morristown, with live stream and on-demand access available. In addition, more than 30 films will be presented at the Film Festival. Complimentary parking and shuttle services will be available starting at 4:30 PM.
Tickets are affordably priced at $30 for individual tickets or $23.75 each for a Family 4-Pack ($95). They can be purchased in advance either at the Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) Box Office, by phone, or through the website at FirstNightMorris.org/Purchase.
New for this year is a historical programming element in honor of America’s 250th Anniversary celebration. Attendees will enjoy guided tours back in time to the Revolutionary War era, where they can meet famous historical figures such as Alexander Hamilton, Elizabeth Schuyler, and Morristown’s first doctor, Jabez Campbell. Visitors will also learn about the encampments of General George Washington and the Continental Army at the Schuyler Hamilton House on Olyphant Place.
Morris County Commissioner Director Christine Myers said, “Our 250th is a great opportunity for our county. We invite everyone to visit, explore, and learn how Morris County played a major role in establishing the best country in the world.”
New additions to the program include performances by Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre, singer/songwriters Megan Chappius and Gabriel Gonzales, and New Jersey favorite Grover Kemble, with vocalist/guitarist Bob Marks. At MPAC, enjoy The Outcrops, a quartet led by Cassidy Rain and Bryan Schroeder, followed by The B-Street Band, the longest-running Bruce Springsteen tribute band, which has been a favorite in the tri-state area for over four decades.
Another new venue this year is Macculloch Hall, which will feature three special attractions: a Thomas Nast Exhibit, a Children’s Seasonal Craft Activity, and a concert by The Dolce Trio, who will celebrate their 30th anniversary performing music from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. This special performance will feature violinist Dr. Lynn Siebert, flutist/recorder player Kris Lamb, and cellist Loni Bach.
