4 injured, 2 seriously, after pickup truck crashes into tractor-trailer parked on shoulder of I-78 in Hunterdon County

UNION TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Four people were injured, including two seriously, after a pickup truck crashed into a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County Friday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Detective Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash happened at around 9:22 a.m. on Interstate 78 eastbound at milepost 15.4 in Union Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Ford pickup, driven by Mosher Ullman, 21, of Los Angeles, CA, was traveling eastbound on I-78 when the pickup entered the right shoulder and rear-ended a Freightliner tractor-trailer that was parked on the shoulder, Lebron said.

The Ford then continued alongside the right side of the Freightliner before striking the right front of the tractor-trailer and a traffic sign support, Lebron said.

As a result of the crash, Ullman and a passenger, Chaim Weinstack, 21, of Brooklyn, NY, suffered serious injuries and were transported to an area hospital. Two other passengers in the Ford suffered minor injuries, Lebron said.

No other reported injuries, Lebron said.

The accident remains under investigation and no additional information was available, Lebron said.
