Police looking for 2 New York men who allegedly assaulted guests at family reunion in Hunterdon County

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Police are looking for two New York men who allegedly assaulted guests at a family reunion in Readington Township, according to the Hunterdon County prosecutor’s Office.

On Saturday, July 27, at around 1:46 p.m., police responded to a report of two males threatening people attending a family reunion on Emmons Road. Before the party began, there was an unrelated domestic dispute and one of the involved individuals contacted Richard B. Gonzalez, 32, and Ryan S. Gonzalez, 32, both from Staten Island, officials said.

Witnesses allege that Richard and Ryan arrived at the residence and assaulted guests of the party with a knife and brandished a handgun. They both fled the scene before police arrived in a gray Honda Accord with New York license plates, authorities said.

Victims of the assault received medical treatment at the scene but refused transport to the hospital, the prosecutor’s office said.

Richard B. Gonzalez was charged with second-degree aggravated assault, and third-degree terroristic threats.

Ryan S. Gonzalez was charged with second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree terroristic threats, two counts of third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Both suspects are still at large, and police are attempting to locate them, officials said.
