More than a year after flooding, repairs to Lommason Glen Road in Warren County continue

WHITE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) — More than a year after severe flooding in July 2023, repairs continue on Lommason Glen Road (County Route 626) in White Township, Emily A. Hammer, Director of the Warren County Department of Public Works told RNJ on Tuesday.

“We’re on track with our continued work that will stabilize the embankment and reconstruct the road,” Hammer said.

Hammer told WRNJ back in February that “work has been ongoing since July 2023 on the section of the road between Bridge #23073, where floodwaters caused a breach, and Buckhorn Drive.”

A property owner in the area claimed that work was being delayed due to a possible dispute between the County Road Department and NJ Fish and Wildlife management. However, Hammer clarified that “there is no dispute between the County and NJDEP Fish and Wildlife.”

Currently, the roadway remains closed to through traffic, and there is no anticipated reopening date at this time.

Hammer noted in February that the county was collaborating with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to secure the funding for these essential repairs.
