Work continues to repair Warren County roadway damaged by July 2023 severe flooding
WHITE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Work continues to repair Lommason Glen Road (County Route 626) in White Township that was damaged by severe flooding in July of 2023, according to Warren County Department of Public Works Director Emily A. Hammer.
“Work has been ongoing since July of 2023, on the portion of the road between Bridge #23073, the area where floodwaters caused a breach in the roadway, and Buckhorn Drive,” Hammer told WRNJ.
The work has included repairing the breach; cleanup of the Buckhorn Creek of debris; repairs to road shoulders and guiderails; stabilization of roadside banks; repaving; and the construction of new and extended retaining walls to help keep water flowing in the creek channel and off the road, Hammer said.
The roadway still remains closed to through traffic and there is no anticipated opening date at this time, Hammer said.
The county needs to develop the plans for needed repairs to the section of roadway between Bridge #23073 and Belvidere Road (County Route 519), Hammer said.
The county is working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for funding of these needed repairs, Hammer said.
