Business damaged by gunfire in Somerset County

WATCHUNG BOROUGH, NJ (Somerset County) –  Authorities are investigating a report of shots fired on Monday night in Watchung Borough, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.

On March 17, at around 9:39 p.m., officers responded to a business located on Route 22 West for a report of gun shots fired. Upon arrival, officers observed evidence of gunshot damage to the building of the business, McDonald said.

No injuries were reported to be sustained as a result of the shots fired, McDonald said.

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene, joined by detectives from the Watchung Borough Police Department. The investigation is currently ongoing, McDonald said.
