Project Self-Sufficiency to offer free summer office skills program for women
NEWTON, N.J. (Sussex County) — Project Self-Sufficiency will offer a free, eight-week Summer Office Skills training program for women, featuring instruction in computer skills, job search strategies, and interview techniques, along with on-the-job training at local community worksites.
The program will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 8 through Aug. 28, at the agency’s campus, located at 127 Mill St. in Newton. Worksite hours will vary based on employer needs.
The comprehensive training prepares women for entry-level administrative roles. In addition to classroom instruction, participants will gain hands-on experience through externships with local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government entities. The curriculum also includes life skills training and personalized career guidance.
Women interested in applying must first attend an open house. Sessions will be held at 10 a.m. on Mondays—June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30—and at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays—June 4, 11, 18 and 25—at Project Self-Sufficiency.
