Hopatcong police add new patrol boat to boost safety and emergency response on Lake Hopatcong

HOPATCONG BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) — The Hopatcong Borough Police Department has announced the addition of a new Wellcraft patrol boat to its Marine Unit, strengthening efforts to ensure safety and rapid response on Lake Hopatcong.

The new vessel will allow officers to actively patrol the lake, monitor recreational activities, and respond more efficiently to emergencies on the water. Officials say the enhanced marine presence will contribute significantly to maintaining public safety during the busy boating season.

“We’re excited to bring this essential tool to our fleet,” the department stated. “It’s going to make a real difference in how we protect and serve our lake community.”
