Morris County man named Somerset County Prosecutor’s Fugitive of the Month for November

SOMERVILLE, N.J. (Somerset County) — The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office has named Matthew R. Venn, 43, of Morris Plains Borough, as its Fugitive of the Month for November 2025, and is asking for the public’s help locating him.

Venn is wanted for failure to appear on charges of third-degree theft of a motor vehicle and fourth-degree endangering another, stemming from incidents that occurred in Bernards Township, Somerset County. Authorities said he also has an active municipal warrant out of Passaic County.

According to the prosecutor’s office, a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Venn is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has multiple tattoos on his chest, left arm, right arm, and right leg. His last known address is in Morris Plains Borough.

Members of the public are urged not to take any police action themselves but to report any information regarding Venn’s whereabouts to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Fugitive Unit at (908) 231-7100 or via the STOPit app, using the access code SOMERSETNJ.
