58 officers graduate from Morris County Police Academy’s 104th Basic Training Class

WHIPPANY, N.J. (Morris County) — The commencement ceremony for the 104th Morris County Basic Police Training Class was held Monday at the Birchwood Manor, marking the graduation of 58 new officers who will serve in various law enforcement roles across New Jersey.

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll addressed the graduating class, praising the officers for their perseverance, personal integrity and commitment to public service.

“The modern-day Police Academy regimen is not easy, and highly technical in many respects,” Carroll said. “These new officers here today are among the best-trained, most-educated, and I contend, the most-qualified new police officers that can be developed. Believe in your community, believe in your training, and most importantly, believe in the law.”

The ceremony included welcoming remarks from Morris County Public Safety Academy Director Daniel Colucci. Dover Police Chief Jonathan Delaney, president of the Morris County Police Chiefs Association, administered the oath of office.

Class President Tyler Van Riper of the Washington Township Police Department also addressed his fellow graduates.

The class completed months of rigorous physical and academic training at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy.
