Hunterdon County Commissioner Soloway joins craft beer fans for Hunterdon Beer Trail Tap Takeover kickoff

HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. — Commissioner Susan J. Soloway joined beer enthusiasts on Sunday, June 1, for the Hunterdon Beer Trail Tap Takeover at Descendants Brewing Company, kicking off the 2025 Beer Trail Passport program. The event drew craft beer fans from across the region for an afternoon of local brews, food, and community celebration.

Soloway, who also serves as the co-liaison to the county’s Economic Development and Tourism Department, praised the growing influence of local breweries in boosting regional tourism.

“Hunterdon County is home to a growing number of craft breweries, and it’s great to see our community come out to celebrate and support them,” said Soloway. “The growth of the Explore Hunterdon tourism initiative has played a key role in bringing more attention to local businesses and attractions – including events like this. It’s amazing to see how craft beer is becoming such an important driver within our tourism economy.”

The tap takeover, which ran from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., featured beer from all eight participating breweries on the Hunterdon Beer Trail. Attendees had the chance to sample exclusive selections, meet the brewers, enjoy food from Descendants Brewing Company, and collect their first stamp in the new 2025 Beer Trail Passport.

Beer lovers who complete the passport throughout the year will receive a commemorative Beer Trail pint glass and an invitation to a special after-party in January 2026.

“You can’t beat a sunny Sunday in the community surrounded by great people, supporting our small businesses,” Soloway added. “It’s always a pleasure to experience firsthand how passionate our breweries and beer lovers are – it’s part of what makes Hunterdon County such a special place.”

The Hunterdon Beer Trail is a collaboration between the county’s tourism initiative, Explore Hunterdon, and local breweries. More information about the trail and participating locations can be found at Explore Hunterdon Tourism.
