Blairstown police offer free seatbelt covers to help identify individuals with autism

BLAIRSTOWN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) – The Blairstown Police Department is offering free seatbelt covers to residents who are autistic or have a family member with autism.

The covers, which can be placed over a vehicle’s seatbelt, are designed to help first responders quickly identify individuals who may have special needs in the event of an emergency. Each black fabric cover features a colorful autism awareness ribbon and the words, “I have autism. I may resist help.”

Residents can pick up a free cover at Blairstown police headquarters, 106 Route 94, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
