Morris County Prosecutor’s Office volunteers at Operation Holiday event
MADISON BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — Members of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office volunteered their time Dec. 23 at the annual Every Day Is Christmas event held at Fairleigh Dickinson University, joining dozens of community partners in an effort to support families and individuals in need across New Jersey.
The event was organized by the nonprofit Operation Holiday and brought together partners from 50 different categories to serve families, children, veterans, seniors and people experiencing homelessness. Volunteers and service providers offered a wide range of free services designed to create a festive and supportive holiday experience.
According to Operation Holiday President and CEO Penelope Lopez, the event goes beyond gift-giving.
“Operation Holiday’s Christmas Extravaganza isn’t just about gifts — it’s about creating a full holiday experience for families, individuals, seniors, the homeless, and children in need,” Lopez said.
The event featured barbers, stylists, DJs, photographers, food vendors and entertainers who donated their time and services. Organizers said the goal was to foster an atmosphere of joy, dignity and community celebration.
In addition to services and entertainment, the event included the distribution of 6,000 brand-new toys to children and families.
Some vendors provided haircuts, facials, family portraits and beauty services, while others supplied music, food and children’s entertainment. Organizers said each participant played a key role in transforming the event into a holiday experience aimed at leaving a lasting impression on families who attended.
