New Jersey state troopers, public safety telecommunicators take part in Night to Shine prom for people with special needs
NEW JERSEY — New Jersey State Police troopers and public safety telecommunicators took part Friday, Feb. 13, in Night to Shine, a prom-style event for individuals with special needs hosted by the Tim Tebow Foundation.
The annual event provides a complimentary prom experience for people with special needs and is sponsored by local churches around the world. This year, troopers partnered with Liquid Church in Parsippany-Troy Hills, Morris County, and The Bridge Church in Hamilton, Mercer County.
Troopers and public safety telecommunicators joined other first responders and volunteers along the red carpet, greeting attendees with applause and cheers as they arrived. Some guests were escorted down the red carpet by first responders, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
The event gives some of the state’s most vulnerable residents the opportunity to enjoy a prom-like evening alongside peers and volunteers dedicated to making the night memorable.
