Crews extinguish Sussex County house fire; no injuries reported

HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Firefighters responded to a structure fire Friday morning in Sussex County, where crews brought the blaze under control and no injuries were reported.

According to Hampton Township Fire & Rescue, the Sussex County Sheriff’s 9-1-1 Center received a call at approximately 10 a.m. April 3 reporting a house fire on Parsons Road in Hampton Township.

First responders arrived within minutes and confirmed a working fire. Officials said all occupants had safely evacuated the home prior to firefighters entering the structure. Crews then made entry to confirm the home was clear and to locate the seat of the fire.

A chief officer arrived shortly after and assumed command of the incident.

The first-arriving ladder company deployed an attack line to the rear of the structure, followed by additional engine companies and mutual aid departments assisting with fire suppression efforts.

Firefighters located the seat of the fire and worked to extinguish it. Crews remained on scene for approximately 90 minutes conducting overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

No injuries were reported, officials said.

The scene was later turned over to the Hampton Township Fire Prevention Bureau, which is investigating the cause of the fire.
