Sussex County Library System seeks teen volunteers for summer reading program
SUSSEX COUNTY, N.J. — The Sussex County Library System is seeking teen volunteers to assist with its upcoming Summer Reading Program, offering students an opportunity to earn community service hours.
Teens ages 14 and older can apply online or at their local library branch to participate in the program, titled “Unearth a Story.”
Applications, along with a medical note and parental consent form, must be submitted by June 13. Applicants are also required to attend a Teen Volunteer Orientation at their local branch, with schedules available on the library system’s website.
The Summer Reading Program is scheduled to run from June 25 through July 25.
In addition to volunteering, teens can participate in the program by reading books, earning raffle tickets and entering prize drawings. Library officials said prize winners must have a valid library card.
More information about volunteer opportunities and other programs is available at Sussexcountylibrary.org. All programs and events are free and open to the public.
