Raptor Trust seeks nesting goose families to help orphaned goslings

MILLINGTON, N.J. (Morris County)The Raptor Trust is asking residents in Morris, Hunterdon, Middlesex and Somerset counties to help locate nesting Canada goose families that can care for orphaned goslings brought into rehabilitation.

The wildlife rehabilitation organization said it is seeking active nesting goose pairs in Morris, Hunterdon, Middlesex and Somerset counties.

According to the nonprofit, goslings that come into its care are carefully placed with established goose families so they can grow and develop naturally in the wild.

The organization said the process gives young birds a better chance of survival while minimizing human dependence during rehabilitation.

Residents who know of active nesting goose pairs are encouraged to contact Nikki Nobles, senior rehabilitation technician for The Raptor Trust, by email at nnobles@theraptortrust.org.

The Raptor Trust thanked the public for helping provide orphaned goslings with “a second chance.”
