Morris County woman charged with DWI after driving vehicle missing tire, police say

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Denville woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after police said she was operating a vehicle missing a front tire on Route 53 South in Denville Township.

According to police, officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at approximately 8 p.m. May 6 after observing a vehicle traveling without its front passenger-side tire.

Police identified the driver as Deborah Walz, 71, of Denville.

During the investigation, officers determined Walz was operating the vehicle while intoxicated, authorities said.

Walz was arrested and transported to Denville Police Headquarters for processing.

Police said she was charged with operating under the influence of liquor or drugs, careless driving, reckless driving and failure to maintain a lane. She was then released pending a mandatory appearance in Denville Municipal Court.
