1 dead, 4 injured in two-vehicle crash in Somerset County

BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Somerset County) — A Piscataway man died after a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Bridgewater Township, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police responded at approximately 9:41 p.m. June 13 to the area of Finderne Avenue and Van Veghten Drive for a reported motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, officers found a crash involving a Honda and a Kia.

The driver of the Honda was transported to an area trauma center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, authorities said.

The driver of the Kia, a male resident of Piscataway, suffered critical injuries and was transported to a local trauma hospital, where he later died.

Three passengers in the Kia — one front-seat passenger and two rear-seat passengers — were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Bridgewater Police Department Traffic Safety Unit responded to investigate.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing pending the results of the reconstruction team’s findings.
