Sussex County to host 13th annual Veterans Picnic

HAMBURG BOROUGH, N.J. (Sussex County) — Sussex County is inviting veterans and their families to attend the 13th Annual Veterans Picnic on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Hamburg Fire Department Pavilion.

The event, hosted by the Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Senior Services, Municipal Alliance and Veterans Committee, will take place from noon to 3 p.m. at the pavilion on Route 23 South in Hamburg.

Veterans and their families will have the opportunity to meet with service providers offering information about programs and resources available to veterans. The event also will feature live music, giveaways, informational tables and a homemade barbecue. Food will be served from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Veterans Committee members encouraged local veterans and their families to, “Share an afternoon with your fellow veterans with fine food and camaraderie.”

Space is limited, and advance registration is required.

Registration opened July 1, and reservations must be received by Aug. 10.
