Woman charged after alleged assault with sword-like object at Warren County apartment, police say

WASHINGTON BOROUGH, N.J. (Warren County) — A Washington Borough woman was arrested after police said she allegedly assaulted another person while armed with a sword-like object during a dispute at an apartment complex.

According to the Washington Township Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 9:48 a.m. June 10 to the Westgate Apartments in Washington Borough for a report of a dispute involving a weapon.

Following an investigation, police determined that a 54-year-old Washington Borough woman allegedly assaulted another person inside the residence. Officers also learned the woman was in possession of a sword-like object during the incident, police said.

The woman, whose name was not released by police, was charged with simple assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. She was lodged in the Warren County Jail pending court proceedings.
