Mosquito spraying scheduled in 5 Morris County towns Wednesday

MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — Mosquito control treatments are scheduled for Wednesday in five Morris County communities following an increase in adult mosquito populations, according to the Morris County Division of Mosquito Control.

Weather permitting, crews will treat a wooded area in Montville using an all-terrain vehicle between 4 and 6 a.m. Aug. 19. The treatment is scheduled for Horseneck Road in the area of Community Park and the amphitheater.

Additional treatments using truck-mounted sprayers are scheduled between 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 1 a.m. Thursday in portions of Jefferson, East Hanover, Florham Park, Lincoln Park and Montville.

In Jefferson, treatment is scheduled along Weldon Road in the area of Camp Jefferson.

East Hanover treatments are scheduled for numerous locations, including Ora Court, Francesca Court, Lisa Lane, Hillside Drive, Hanover Road, Oakwood Road, Lurker Park, Eagle Rock Avenue in the area of Ravello’s and surrounding streets.

In Florham Park, treatment is scheduled along Northridge Drive.

Numerous streets in Lincoln Park are also scheduled for treatment, including Gettysburg Way, Toms Point Way, Pine Brook Road, Skyline Drive, Orchard Avenue, Riverview Avenue, Chapel Hill Road, Morris Avenue, Two Bridges Road, Valley Road and surrounding streets.

Montville treatments are scheduled for numerous locations, including Marts Lane, Hook Mountain Road, Pine Brook Road, Green Ridge Drive, Longview Drive, Peace Valley Road, Two Bridges Road, Riverside Drive, Bloomfield Avenue, John Street Park and surrounding streets.

Crews will use either Anvil 2+2, which contains the active ingredient sumithrin, or Zenivex E4, which contains the active ingredient etofenprox, according to the county.

The treatments are weather dependent and may be postponed or changed if conditions are unfavorable.
