Nine St. Luke’s University Health Network hospitals have received five-star ratings, the highest possible score, in the latest hospital quality and safety review by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
St. Luke’s was the only health network in the Lehigh Valley to receive the highest ratings in the recently updated federal review, according to the health network.

The CMS ratings are based on a composite of 52 quality measures, including safety and value of care, readmissions, infection and complication rates, mortality, patient experience, effectiveness and timeliness of care and efficient use of medical imaging.
Nationwide, 12% of about 3,200 eligible hospitals received five stars. Nine of St. Luke’s 12 eligible acute care hospitals earned the top rating:
- St. Luke’s University Hospital, including the Bethlehem, Allentown and Sacred Heart campuses
- St. Luke’s Anderson Campus
- St. Luke’s Carbon Campus
- St. Luke’s Monroe Campus
- St. Luke’s Upper Bucks Campus
- St. Luke’s Warren Campus
- Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital
Of Pennsylvania’s 189 eligible hospitals, 20 received five stars, with St. Luke’s hospitals accounting for half of those facilities, according to the health network.
Three additional St. Luke’s hospitals received four-star ratings: St. Luke’s Easton Campus, St. Luke’s Grand View Campus and St. Luke’s Miners Campus.
CMS provides the ratings through its Hospital Compare tool, a consumer-focused website that provides information about hospital care and allows patients to compare facilities when making health care decisions.
The latest ratings follow a 2025 study by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in which St. Luke’s received the highest quality score among the nation’s three recognized highest-performing health systems, according to the health network.
