NEWTON, N.J. (Sussex County) — A Pennsylvania man has been charged with cyber-harassment after allegedly sending lewd, indecent or obscene emails to a Sussex County public official, according to the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Sussex County Prosecutor Daniel M. Perez announced Wednesday the arrest of Karl R. Heideck, 45, of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.
According to the prosecutor’s office, a Sussex County public official received electronic communications on Aug. 2 that allegedly contained lewd, indecent or obscene material intended to emotionally harm a reasonable person or place a reasonable person in fear of physical or emotional harm.
Authorities said the public official received emails stating that ICE agents raped her daughters “and they LOVED IT,” asserting that she makes Sussex County “safe” for pedophiles because “you love THEM, don’t ya, b****?” and characterizing her as a “dumb b****.”
The Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office, along with the Newton Police Department, launched an investigation that resulted in Heideck’s arrest.
Heideck, a licensed Pennsylvania attorney and resident, was charged on a complaint warrant with fourth-degree cyber-harassment.
He will be lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending his first appearance in Sussex County Superior Court, according to prosecutors. A fourth-degree cyber-harassment charge carries a maximum sentence of 18 months in New Jersey State Prison.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office and Newton Police Department.
