SANDYSTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — A Sussex County man was seriously injured Sunday night in a two-vehicle crash on Route 206 in Sandyston Township, according to the New Jersey State Police.

A preliminary investigation found that a Honda CR-V and a Hyundai Kona were traveling north when the Honda struck the rear of the Hyundai. The impact caused the Hyundai to veer off the right side of the road and hit several trees and rocks.

The driver of the Hyundai, 54-year-old Matthew Vela of Sandyston Township, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital, Lebron said. No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was available.
