Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute in Morris County ranked No. 1 in Northeast for third consecutive year
MADISON BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute in Madison Borough has been ranked No. 1 in the Northeast region on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2026, marking the third consecutive year the facility has earned the top regional ranking.
The recognition was awarded by Newsweek in partnership with Statista Inc., a statistics and industry ranking provider.
Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute, a joint venture between Atlantic Health and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, is a two-story, 38-bed rehabilitation hospital that opened in 2019.
Built by Atlantic Health, the facility was established to help meet the need for acute inpatient rehabilitation services in New Jersey.
“Our team is driven by a commitment to exceptional care with the goal of helping patients recover function and return to their lives,” said Saif Salim, Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute. “We are honored that our dedication is now recognized multiple times over as the best in the region.”
The hospital specializes in neurological rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and rehabilitation following amputations.
Its services include advanced rehabilitation technology and therapies, such as bionic-assisted movement systems, therapeutic courtyards, fully equipped rehabilitation gyms and a dedicated Activities of Daily Living suite designed to help patients regain skills needed for everyday activities.
Newsweek’s America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2026 ranking recognizes leading rehabilitation facilities across the United States.
According to the ranking methodology, the 25 states with the most rehabilitation facilities, based on Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services data, were evaluated individually. Facilities in the remaining states were grouped into four regions: Northeast, Midwest, West and South.
The rankings were determined using four categories of information: quality metrics published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, a reputation survey of health care professionals, quality designations from rehabilitation accreditation and research organizations, and Google reviews as an indicator of patient satisfaction.
The reputation survey included physicians, physiotherapists, clinic managers and other health care professionals with knowledge of physical rehabilitation centers.
Quality designations were obtained from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center.
Statista, which partnered with Newsweek on the rankings, conducts research and analysis and publishes industry rankings and company listings worldwide.
