County College of Morris accepting applications for paid AI and data science apprenticeship
RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — County College of Morris is accepting applications through Nov. 2 for its artificial intelligence and data science apprenticeship program, offering students and adult learners an opportunity to gain paid work experience while earning college credits and professional credentials.
The program is open to CCM students and adult learners residing in New Jersey who are interested in pursuing careers in artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science.
The apprenticeship combines classroom instruction with hands-on training provided by industry professionals. Participants must complete 30 college credits and 2,000 hours of paid, on-the-job training to earn a certificate in AI and Data Science from CCM and a Registered Apprenticeship Certificate of Completion from the New Jersey Department of Labor.
According to the college, tuition and fees toward the AI and Data Science Certificate may be covered for eligible participants. Credits earned through the program can also be applied toward a 60-credit associate degree at CCM, with the opportunity to transfer to a four-year university to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
“Artificial intelligence and data science are reshaping the global economy at an unprecedented pace,” said Nancy Binowski, professor of AI and Data Science at CCM. “Through this innovative earn-and-learn model, students gain real-world experience in a dynamic, in-demand field, while employers have an opportunity to develop emerging talent and apply AI and data science solutions to business needs.”
The apprenticeship also provides employers with an opportunity to train emerging professionals, help participants develop workplace skills and apply artificial intelligence and data science technologies to business operations.
With support from the New Jersey Community College Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development, CCM was selected as one of two community colleges in New Jersey to help deliver the state’s first U.S. Department of Labor-registered AI and Data Science Apprenticeship.
The initiative is designed to prepare workers for careers involving artificial intelligence and data science across a variety of industries while providing employers with access to developing talent.
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2026.
