Dover police investigating alleged threat involving middle school student, say no known danger
DOVER, N.J. (Morris County) — Dover police are investigating reports of an alleged threat involving a student at Dover Middle School but say there is no known danger to students, school staff or the general public.
In a statement released Friday afternoon, Oct. 23, the Dover Police Department said it was aware of reports circulating on social media about the alleged threat. Police said the individual involved has been identified and the matter remains under active investigation.
Authorities emphasized that there is currently no known threat to public safety and said they are working closely with school officials to ensure the safety and security of the school community.
Police acknowledged that reports involving potential threats at schools can raise concerns among parents, students and community members. The department said it takes all reported threats seriously and that school safety remains one of its highest priorities.
Because the investigation involves a juvenile, police said no additional details would be released at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing.
