Turkey, scalloped potatoes and chocolate: Lay’s unwraps five holiday-inspired chip flavors

Thanksgiving dinner is getting a crunchy makeover this holiday season as Lay’s introduces five limited-time potato chip flavors inspired by traditional holiday dishes, including roasted turkey, cheddar scalloped potatoes and chocolate-covered chips.

The snack brand’s new “Holi-LAY’S” lineup began arriving in stores nationwide Sunday, Oct. 25, with additional flavors scheduled for release in November and December.

The collection features a combination of savory and sweet flavors designed to bring the tastes of holiday meals to snack aisles, whether consumers are preparing for family gatherings, attending holiday parties or looking for seasonal gifts.

“The holidays are all about gathering around the table with friends and family, and food plays an important role in those celebrations,” said Denise Truelove, senior vice president of marketing, PepsiCo Foods. “With this year’s Holi-LAY’S lineup, we’re bringing fans flavors inspired by courses on the holiday table, so they can taste the joy of the holiday season before the table has been set and after it’s been cleared.”

The first two flavors, Lay’s Cheddar Scalloped-Style Potatoes and Lay’s Roasted Holiday Turkey, debuted nationwide Oct. 25. The scalloped potato variety is designed to recreate the creamy, cheesy flavors of the popular side dish, while the turkey version combines roasted turkey flavor with the taste of gravy.

Lay’s Maple Bacon will arrive on U.S. store shelves Nov. 8, marking the flavor’s first availability in the United States. The chips combine sweet maple flavor with smoky bacon taste for a sweet-and-savory snack.

Two chocolate-covered varieties will follow Dec. 1 at select retailers. Lay’s Wavy Milk Chocolate features the brand’s ridged potato chips coated in milk chocolate, while Lay’s Wavy Dubai-Style Dark Chocolate combines dark chocolate and pistachios with the signature Wavy chip crunch. Both varieties are expected to expand their availability in 2027.

According to Lay’s, the holiday lineup also reflects growing consumer interest in giving food as gifts. The company cited research indicating that 78% of consumers consider food a good holiday gift, while 55% prefer receiving food over other types of presents.

In addition to the seasonal flavors, Lay’s launched its “Happy Holi-Lay’s Sweepstakes” on Monday, Oct. 26, offering consumers a chance to win holiday-themed merchandise and kitchen items.

Prizes include glass and wooden chip bowls, a holiday sweater, a charcuterie set, a tile game set, a multicooker and a Lay’s-branded Le Creuset Signature Oval Casserole.

Consumers can enter by scanning the code on qualifying Lay’s bags or visiting HappyHoli-Lays.com, where eligibility requirements, prize information and official sweepstakes rules are available.

The five limited-time flavors will roll out through December, giving shoppers several opportunities to try the holiday-inspired snacks throughout the season.
