DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A 37-year-old Rockaway man was arrested Friday night after police allegedly discovered crack cocaine, cocaine and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in Denville Township, authorities said.
According to police, officers observed a vehicle with dark window tint and an obstructed license plate traveling eastbound on Route 46 at approximately 11 p.m. on Oct. 30. Officers subsequently stopped the vehicle on Route 53 southbound.
Police identified the driver as Angelo Pezzino, 37, of Rockaway. During the traffic stop, officers observed what they described as indicators of possible drug use in plain view, prompting further investigation.
Police said the investigation revealed that Pezzino was allegedly in possession of crack cocaine, cocaine and related drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and transported to Denville Police Department headquarters for processing.
Pezzino was charged with third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for operating a vehicle while in possession of a narcotic, obstruction of windshield vision and improper display of license plates.
Following processing, Pezzino was released pending a future court appearance in Morris County Superior Court.
