Arthritis Foundation to honor leaders in health care and community impact Oct. 23

SOMERSET, N.J. (Somerset County) — The Arthritis Foundation will host its annual Evening of Honors on Oct. 23, recognizing leaders who are making a difference in health care and community advocacy.

The event will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset. Proceeds will support the foundation’s efforts to accelerate research, advocate for patients, and provide vital resources to the more than 60 million Americans living with arthritis.

This year’s honorees are Garden State Orthopaedic Associates, named the Healthcare Champion Honoree, and Chrissy Buteas, president and CEO of the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey, who will be recognized as the Community Champion Honoree.

With more than 40 years of service and more than 200 years of combined physician experience, Garden State Orthopaedic Associates is a leader in patient-centered orthopaedic care. With five locations across New Jersey and a state-of-the-art surgical center, the practice specializes in sports medicine, joint replacement, rehabilitation and comprehensive musculoskeletal health.

Buteas leads HINJ, the trade association representing New Jersey’s research-based biopharmaceutical and medical technology companies. A seasoned leader in government affairs, she has previously held executive roles with Optimum and the New Jersey Business & Industry Association, advocating for policies that strengthen business and health care innovation in the state.

“We are proud to honor Garden State Orthopaedic Associates and Chrissy Buteas for their extraordinary commitment to improving health and strengthening communities,” said Emily Meyers, executive director of the Arthritis Foundation’s New Jersey Market. “Their leadership reflects the spirit of the Arthritis Foundation’s mission to champion the fight against arthritis, the nation’s leading cause of disability.”
