Blackstone recalls Parmesan Ranch seasoning sold at Walmart over possible Salmonella contamination
NEW JERSEY — Blackstone Products of Providence, Utah, is voluntarily recalling certain lots of its Parmesan Ranch seasoning products due to potential Salmonella contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The FDA said the recall was initiated after California Dairies Inc. recalled dry milk powder that may have been contaminated with Salmonella. The affected milk powder ingredient was supplied to a third-party manufacturer and used in the seasoning products.
No illnesses have been reported.
Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly individuals and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms in healthy individuals can include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare cases, the infection can enter the bloodstream and lead to more severe illnesses.
The recalled products were sold nationwide exclusively through Walmart stores and the Blackstone Products website.
The recall affects Blackstone Parmesan Ranch 7.3-ounce seasoning products with the following lot numbers and best-by dates:
Lot No. 2025-43282 — Best if used by July 2, 2027
Lot No. 2025-46172 — Best if used by Aug. 5, 2027
Lot No. 2026-54751 — Best if used by Aug. 12, 2027
The lot code and best-by date can be found on the bottom of the package.
Consumers are urged not to consume the recalled seasoning products and to dispose of them immediately.
